Support for veterans, military families, and ROTC students

Endowed grants and scholarships

More than thirty endowed funds at the Benton Community Foundation provide direct support to veterans, military families, and ROTC students. These funds have been making annual grants to local students and charities since 1996.

The Michael and Maxine Rainbolt Military Endowment

This endowment provides annual funding for the Benton County Veterans Memorial; veterans services at Community Outreach, Inc.; summer camps for children of military families; scholarships for ROTC students at Oregon State University; and support for local veterans traveling to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials built to honor their military service.

The Honor Veterans & Patriots ROTC Scholarship

The Honor Veterans & Patriots ROTC Scholarship was originally established in 2016 by Michael Rainbolt, LTC, USA, Ret., to honor former service members, their families, and the many people who have supported, in varying capacities, the United States Armed Forces. Each year, the scholarship fund supports one cadet each in the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine ROTC programs at Oregon State University. Read more about who the scholarship honors.
